THE FANTASTICKS
Music by Harvey Schmidt, Book and Lyrics by Tom Jones March 12-15 2009 Directed by Pam Farneth Venue: Penn State New Ken
The Fantasticks is a 1960 musical. The show's original production off-Broadway ran for 17,162 performances, becoming the world's longest-running musical, for 42 years. “Try to Remember the Kind of September” haunts the allegorical story about two fathers put up a wall between their houses to ensure that their children fall in love. Discovering the plot, the children resist. This twist on ROMEO AND JULIET promises a much happier ending than the Bard’s.
